In addition to straight dollars raised by the Kiwanis Club of St. Catharines and invested back into our local community, the Club is also involved providing programs and/or services, some in partnership with other organizations. The best examples of this type of service are 1. Kiwanis Music Festival, 2. Kiwanis Hockey League, & 3. Literacy & Numeracy projects.
Literacy / Numeracy Programs
Under the umbrella of our YCPF (Young Children Priority First) focus, the Kiwanis Club of St. Catharines has participated in various literacy and numeracy projects. Currently, The Early Childhood Community Development Centre in partnership with the Kiwanis Clubs of Niagara received a Trillium Foundation grant to provide all licensed child care centres in Niagara with a numeracy resource kit. Each kit contains over $1000 worth of educational resource materials which will foster children's learning of early math concepts. In 2010 and 2011, each Child Care Centre Staff team will attend a training session where they will receive the kit and have the opportunity to brainstorm and dialogue together on ways of implementing the materials within their programs.
Due to the generous funding received by The Ontario Trillium Foundation and financial contributions being made by The Kiwanis Clubs of Niagara , The Early Childhood Community Development Centre and suppliers Louise Kool and Galt the kits and training are provided to the centres at no cost.
Kiwanis Hockey League
Long standing in St. Catharines is the Kiwanis Hockey League, an association that coordinates house league hockey for boys and girls between the ages of 4 and 17. The league's motto is "Name of the Game is Fun", and aims to provide basic fun hockey, sportsmanship and team spirit for all participants, regardless of ability.

Kiwanis Music Festival
The St. Catharines Kiwanis Music Festival offers children and teenagers of all ages a chance to participate in vocal, piano, strings, guitar & fiddle, guitar & woodwinds, speech arts, and dance. Scholarships are awarded to top finishers.
The Ontario Music Festivals Association holds a Provincial Festival each year. As a member of the Festival Association, The Kiwanis Music and Arts Festival of St.Catharines may send contestants from the Piano, Vocal, Guitar, Stings and Speech Arts section.
